Starting Sparks: The Call of Waking

So do any of you remember The Good Dream Maker and The Cycle of Yesterdays? Well, I thought I'd give you some resolution. :)

Also, I'd thought I'd join in Music Monday, hosted by Lauren @ Always Me.

Here's an awesome guitar instrumental of Here Comes the Sun. I might be a little jealous.

Okay, so because it's part of The Good Dream Maker, this piece is a little. . . experimental. So, yes, the changing verb tense is intentional.

[So sorry, but I've taken this story off the blog. Blame my dragon moods or poor planning skills. Sorry again.]

I *might* have memories tied to this song.

There's still one day left if you want to join Starting Sparks this month!

  1. Dude this is so good. JUST WRITE THE BOOK ALREADY.

Lately I've been really interested in how to write a fragmented mind, like someone who's deep in grief (like your character) or who has a mental illness or anxiety or depression or something. You've done a great job. *frantically takes notes* I really want to try using the words and the page, like:

    And he was f
    a
    l
    l
    i
    n
    g

    or something. Anyways.

    1. Thank you so much! I'm so glad that came across. He's kind of been grieving a while. . . I thought I ought to give him some resolution. XD I'm glad you liked it though!

Oo, using the page format in different ways sounds so cool! Go for it! :D

  2. Love this, you had such a great twist of the prompt. I also loved the Alice reference.

  5. "Could anyone understand anybody without owning the same soul?"

    THIS PIECE GAVE ME GOOSEBUMPS.

You know I have a whole lotta love for the Cycle of Yesterdays and this was beautiful like the other two! I loved the tense thing and the fragmented-ness and just all of it! Jonny and Luke. All of it.

"Did they live in yesterdays and numb nightmares?"

I looove all these rhetorical questions. Love love love them.

Any chance of this continuing? ... Mandy??

    1. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

That's one of my favorite lines of this piece, so I'm so glad someone else likes it too!

I'm really glad you liked it. Especially the tense thing, because I was afraid that might have thrown some people off. But it was rather fun, actually.

      Thank you!

Um, this was technically the last installment. A three part short story with an open ending. But *shrugs* we'll see, I guess.
