Where Your Stories Began

morguefile

I know I was writing when I was five. I don't know what I did before that. Just loafed, I suppose.
                                           - P. G. Wodehouse

Around the ages of twelve and fourteen, I stepped partly out of childhood's door. I could no longer play act my imaginings. I couldn't incorporate my toys into the stories that ran rampant through my mind. But the stories still existed along with the desire to pretend. So instead I search for Narnia. I was child enough that facts didn't stop me. Just for a few moments while pushing back the clothes in the closet, shoving away the boxes underneath the bed, or rounding that tree in the woods, I could let myself believe that just maybe. And when I found nothing, I would smile and sigh. Of course I would not find anything. I searched for the impossible. But what if- I could be raptured into a different world? Where animals talked, the trees danced, and the wind truly whispered. Where money was of small concern, math mattered little, and people actually noticed sunsets and the fresh smell of rain. I turned from actor of stories to dreamer of stories. But these stories screamed for an outlet that mere thoughts could not satisfy. I transitioned quickly from dreamer to writer. My stories flew from pencil to paper. And I found out that other worlds did exist. All with their own dangers, wonders, and curious people. I believe this is when I first became drawn to writing.

How about you? When did you first start writing? Why? What is the story that began all your stories?

Construction Zone

source

At present [insert title here] is under construction. I know it hasn't even been around for long. But it needs it. So for now I'll leave you with this. Keep writing. Even when you don't feel like it, or when life overwhelms you. Write anyways. Throw all your sunshine and laughs, all your burden and troubles on the page. And edit later. Yeah, that's all I've got.

Official!

[insert title here] is launched! It is now initiated into blogdom. So let the madness begin. Okay, I shouldn't scare you, yet. But I will give you a story. The shortest story I've ever written. And I would say most terrible, but that is untrue. I've written some rather awful stuff. :P Anyhow, here you have it:

The In Between

This is the between post. [insert title here] is still only semi-launched. :P But I thought I'd post say something. What, I don't know. But things are in the process of being fixed. And it's 2 am! What am I thinking?

Semi- launched!

The first post! *does a dance* Okay, well, this is sort of a test post. You know, nobody's around yet, so it's just me. And I need to see what it looks, so I can make changes. And do I need to make changes! I kind of need to go to history class also. :P Later. Since this is the semi-launch of [insert title here], it must be commemorated in some way. Honestly I tried to find a photo to go with this post, but, no, the computer wants to be slow and I'm short on time. But- I do have a poem. Not a semi-launching sort of poem, but, hey, it something. What do you expect on such short notice? A full comedy routine?

I feel as if I am growing
                                                                     Not physically
                                                                   -But differently-

                                                                      And it hurts
                                                                    Not physically
                                                                  -But differently-

                                                         Because it's happening too fast
