Yes, I suppose it was. I like funny, but maybe a bit of morbid too. :P It really struck me when I read it though. It was a different way to describe blood and set the mood of a scene at the same time.
I have heard a lot about that book and the other in the series. Haven't read them yet, not really the kind I like, but I've heard they are really good.
And aye, authors who make their beloved characters lives miserable is bound to make us moody.
They are really good. Overdose on the romance though, and it's not a particularly funny book. But it's an AMAZING story. The style is good, and the characters- so real at times.
