Finding words in the Great, Blank Nothing and getting them to stick to paper (or virtual paper) is more difficult than most people think. It also comes with a lot staring into the Great, Blank Nothing (or just staring to normal people).
And sometimes people say, "Why are you staring? Why don't you write?" To which I say, "I am writing." (Staring can be writing. It's part of the process, eh?) ;)
Staring is everything. It's the search for inspiration. It's brainstorming. It's writing mentally. Trying to fit words together like a puzzle. Seeing the scene like a movie in your head. What would writing be without staring? I'm not sure I could do it without staring. . .
